About Retired Racing Greyhounds and “Home for the Holidays”
TWIN PEAK PRIMITIVES
Calm and affectionate, retired racing greyhounds reward adopters by being quiet, sweet-natured and loyal friends for life. Settling in for an afternoon of needlework with one of these gentle giants at your side is a balm for the hectic lives we lead.
The “Home for the Holidays” counted cross-stitch pattern was designed by Nurdan Kanber of Twin Peaks Primitives as a fundraiser for Greyhound Pets of America Nashville (GPAN). One of many organizations around the globe that finds homes for retired racers, GPAN annually cares for and adopts 100+ dogs. Vetting and preparing former racers for their new lives as pets is costly. Basic services like neuter/spay, dental and shots average about $300 per dog; track-injured dogs or those needing advanced care can run $2,000+ each.
GPAN thanks Nurdan for her generosity and creativity in making this collaboration possible. One-hundred percent of the purchase price of each pattern benefits our homeless greyhounds. Likewise, we thank needleworkers everywhere who purchase this pattern and help make our work possible.
